Sedaris 'Standing By' [Due 1/31]
Sedaris' 'Standing By' is about airplanes and the procedure that come with them and experiences once you are on them (275). He seems to have a very negative outlook on flying, and automatically shows you flying is not something that is enjoyable to him. Sedaris comes off as a very judgmental person in my opinion.
This is a very succinct summary! Maybe too succinct...
ReplyDeleteImagine you were telling a friend about this essay. What would you want/need to tell them so they understand it the same way you understand it? What kinds of questions do you think they would ask? Those are the kinds of details you might want to include in your summary.
Also try to include what Sedaris' overall purpose is--why did he write this and what is at stake for him?
